Bob Marshall receives endorsement from 51 (52 if you count me)

Fifty-one (51) key pro-life leaders – all but one of them Virginians – are supporting Del. Bob Marshall (R., Prince William) for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate at the GOP state convention to be held May 29-31 at the Richmond Convention Center.

In a March 19 “open letter to Republican voters in Virginia,” the pro-life leaders – every one locally and/or nationally active politically in protecting the sanctity of human life – note former Gov. James S. Gilmore’s stated support of abortion during the first eight weeks of pregnancies. Gilmore also is seeking the GOP’s Senate nomination.

“We, the undersigned,” their letter says, “are men and women … who have been active, in some cases for more than three decades, in the movement to protect the sanctity of human life. In that cause, we have dedicated time and energy to seeking the passage of laws to protect the right to life from conception to natural death, to championing the rights of the disabled and others deemed ‘imperfect’ and unworthy of full protection, to supporting the provision of caring alternatives to assist women facing unexpected pregnancies.

“We write now to offer our personal endorsement of Delegate Robert G. Marshall for the GOP Senate nomination from Virginia.”

The letter’s signers contend that Marshall’s positions on human life issues “on which he has led as a member of the Virginia General Assembly, qualify him uniquely to be considered the pro-life candidate in this race.” They also accuse Gilmore, in recent statements, of attempting “to obscure the real differences between his own exception-laden views and the authentic pro-life vision [Marshall] has articulated and represented.” As an example, their letter cites a May 2007 CNN interview in which Gilmore, then a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, said abortion should be legal during the first eight weeks of a pregnancy.

“This ‘nuance’ of Mr. Gilmore’s position,” according to the pro-life letter, “would leave unprotected nearly three-fifths of the unborn children exposed to medical and surgical abortions in the United States today – some 700,000 human lives a year. This is a tremendous toll in lost human lives and in hurting women who deserve better.”

Quotes from the Obama autobiography, Dreams of my father

WARNING: These Quotes include Offensive Language and Racism.

"That’s just how white folks will do you. It wasn’t merely the cruelty involved; I was learning that black people could be mean and then some. It was a particular brand of arrogance, an obtuseness in otherwise sane people that brought forth our bitter laughter. It was as if whites didn’t know they were being cruel in the first place. Or at least thought you deserving of their scorn."

"In Indonesia, I had spent two years at a Muslim school"

"I Studied the Koran"

"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

" I FOUND A SOLACE IN NURSING A PERVASIVE SENSE OF GRIEVANCE AND ANIMOSITY AGAINST MY MOTHER'S RACE"

"I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites"

"Desperate times called for desperate measures, and for many blacks, times were chronically desperate. If nationalism could create a strong and effective insularity, deliver on its promise of self-respect, then the hurt it might cause well-meaning whites, or the inner turmoil it caused people like me, would be of little consequence."

'It was obvious that certain whites could be exempted from the general category of our distrust: Ray was always telling me how cool my grandparents were. The term white was simply a shorthand for him, I decided, a tag for what my mother would call a bigot. And although I recognized the risks in his terminology-how easy it was to fall into the same sloppy thinking that my basketball coach had displayed (“There are white folks, and then there are ignorant motherfuckers like you,” I had finally told the coach before walking off the court that day)-Ray assured me that we would never talk about whites as whites in front of whites without knowing exactly what we were doing. Without knowing that there might be a price to pay."

"To avoid being mistaken for a [racial] sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets. We smoked cigarettes and wore leather jackets. At night, in the dorms, we discussed neocolonialism, Franz Fanon, Eurocentrism, and patriarchy."

“Sister Regina,” Marcus said. “You know Barack, don’t you? I’m trying to tell Brother Barack here about this racist tract he’s reading.” He held up a copy of Heart of Darkness
, evidence for the court. I reached over to snatch it out of his hands….
I tossed the book into my backpack. “Actually, he’s right,” I said. “It is a racist book. The way Conrad sees it, Africa’s the cesspool of the world, black folks are savages, and any contact with them breeds infection.”
Regina blew on her coffee. “So why are you reading it?”
because the book teaches me things,” I said. “About white people, I mean. See, the book’s not really about Africa. Or black people. It’s about the man who wrote it. The European. The American. A particular way of looking at the world. If you can keep your distance, it’s all there, in what’s said and what’s left unsaid. So I read the book to help me understand just what it is that makes white people so afraid. Their demons. The way ideas get twisted around. It helps me understand how people learn to hate.”
“And that’s important to you.”My life depends on it, I thought to myself. But I didn’t tell Regina that. I just smiled and said, “That’s the only way to cure an illness, right? Diagnose it.”

"When the weather was good, my roommate and I might sit out on the fire escape to smoke cigarettes and study the dusk washing blue over the city, or watch white people from the better neighborhoods nearby walk their dogs down our block to let the animals shit on our curbs-“Scoop the poop, you bastards!” my roommate would shout with impressive rage, and we’d laugh at the faces of both master and beast, grim and unapologetic as they hunkered down to do the deed.
I enjoyed such moments-but only in brief."

"As it was, I learned to slip back and forth between my black and white worlds, understanding that each possessed its own language and customs and structures of meaning, convinced that with a bit of translation on my part the two worlds would eventually cohere. Still, the feeling that something wasn’t quite right stayed with me, a warning that sounded whenever a white girl mentioned in the middle of conversation how much she liked Stevie Wonder; or when a woman in the supermarket asked me if I played basketball; or when the school principal told me I was cool."
(Side Note, I'm White and get the Basketball question all the time, its the height, not the race, What a reactionary bozo.)

Obama's spiritual mentor insults yet another ethnic group.

From an article written by "Rev." Jeremiah Wright in Trumpet Newsmagazine

"The Italians for the most part looked down their garlic noses at the Galileans."

"From the circumstances surrounding Jesus' birth (in a barn in a township that was under the Apartheid Roman government that said his daddy had to be in), up to and including the circumstances surrounding Jesus' death on a cross, a Roman cross, public lynching Italian style...

This Intolerance is absolutely disgusting, Jeremiah Wright has truly become the new David Duke.
If Obama is nominated, Plan on another 1984 Mondale fiasco for the Dems.

We have our nominee!!!

McDonnell for Governor
Bolling for Lieutenant Governor
Cuccinelli for Attorney General

This is a great ticket, McDonnell is very in touch with minority outreach, Has a great background, He appeals strongly to Gun Owners and Pro-Lifers, and most importantly he has my support.

Bolling has a degree of name recognition and has almost completely avoided negative publicity.

Cuccinelli rounds out the ticket very nicely, ensuring a heavy social conservative turnout.

Republicans obviously have the geographical advantage.
McDonnell from VA Beach
Bolling from the Greater Richmond Area
Cuccinelli from Fairfax

Deeds from Bath
Moran from Arlington

Sure Deeds has Albemarle, But he is unlikely to break 60% in his home district.
Even more ideal, Moran wont make any gains in Arlington-Alexandria, His home turf is heavily democratic and so what Republicans are there, are much more loyal to the party.

My Prediction...
Democrats have a heavily contested primary, pitting downstate traditional democrats with northern liberals.

Republicans gain an early financial advantage, bypassing a costly primary. They also spend more time perfecting GOTV plans.
Their work pays off and a Unified Party sweeps all State-Wide Republicans into office with 2+ percent margins.

NEA hosts late term abortionist

(SFLA) today released video exposing footage of abortionist Dr. George Tiller of Wichita, KS openly discussing children who "slip out" accidentally during an abortion and are "born alive" or with a "heartbeat" and condemned such medical mistakes during the Feminist Majority Foundation's annual Women's Leadership Conference, held at the National Education Association (NEA.) Dr. Tiller, who currently faces 19 criminal charges for illegal late-term abortions in the state of Kansas, stated "If the baby is born alive, that is sloppy medicine" after addressing the crowd of about 100 feminists during a plenary session titled "Standing with our Sisters" on March 9, 2008.

The video reveals Dr. Tiller showcasing graphic pictures of children with fetal abnormalities that he aborted to make the case for late-term abortions as necessary medical procedure. He also admitted to performing abortions on children the day before the mother's due date. Yet when questioned in a personal interview, Dr. Tiller failed to recognize the Born Alive Infants Protection Act, a federal bill signed into law in 2002 that protects born children from murder and illegalizes infanticide.

When asked about the Act, Dr. Tiller also admitted, "Let's say you have 15 or 16, you had one slip out with a heartbeat; that is not a viable fetus, but that is born alive or has a heartbeat. Then you have to take that non-viable fetus and rush it directly to the hospital against the woman's wishes."

The conference and personal interview with Dr. Tiller was videotaped by SFLA's Executive Director Kristan Hawkins and Programs Coordinator Becky Banks.

"What is most disturbing about this video is the point when Dr. Tiller shows footage of children he has aborted," stated Kristan Hawkins, the Executive Director of Students for Life of America. "One had an extra arm: could not that child had survived and received corrective surgery? Was violently killing the child the only way to go? Pro-lifers are regularly condemned for displaying pictures of aborted babies, but here the pro-abortion crowd and the NEA are more than happy to showcase these graphic images, and even gave Dr. Tiller's presentation a standing ovation."

Becky Banks, SFLA Programs Coordinator, said "I'm concerned that Dr. Tiller didn't know what the federal ban on infanticide is about. A man who performs thousands of abortions a year should know of this legislation and realize that any time that 'something with a heartbeat slips out,' the baby is then a protected person under the law. The question obviously caught him off guard, because he could not give a straight answer about live abortions and contradicted his own information in a matter of minutes, claiming it's not ever necessary and then explaining when it is necessary to abort live infants."

The NEA should consider the effect their sponsorship has on its more than 3 million members:

"As a pro-life teacher, I can say this illustrates why I am no longer a member of the NEA. The NEA should not be involved in this issue; here they are hosting this controversial abortionist and his slideshow of babies he has aborted. There is no way any of my money will ever be used to advance the radical pro-abortion agenda of Planned Parenthood and the NEA," said Marla Mercer, a West Virginia teacher and former member of the National Education Association.

ACTION: Send your complaints to the National Education Association.

Hypocrisy

Although it took years for Obama to condemn (if you call it that) Jeremiah Wrights racist comments, it only took a week to attack Don Imus.

“There’s nobody on my staff who would still be working for me if they made a comment like that about anybody of any ethnic group. And I would hope that NBC ends up having that same attitude,” Obama told ABC News in an April 11 interview demanding Imus' resignation.

Obama told ABC in the interview he would never appear again on Imus’ show after Imus set off a firestorm of outrage when he called members of the women’s basketball team at Rutgers University “nappy-headed hos” on his popular morning talk show.

“He didn’t just cross the line,” Obama raged then. “He fed into some of the worst stereotypes that my two young daughters are having to deal with today in America.”

McCain aide fired for this video.

Racism rears it's ugly head (Throw Granny Under the bus)

For Obama not to have been that influenced by Jeremiah Wright, He sure sounds like him

But she is a typical white person. If she sees somebody on the street that she doesn’t know. . .there’s a reaction in her that doesn’t go away and it comes out in the wrong way.

Wellll maybe she wouldn't be prejudiced if her black grandson wasn't a Cocaine Addict, If anything, Obama's behavior reinforced any negative stereotype she may have had.

The best quote comes from Ann Coulter

"He used her as the white racist counterpart to his black racist "old uncle," Rev. Wright.

First of all, Wright is not Obama's uncle. The only reason we indulge crazy uncles is that everyone understands that people don't choose their relatives the way they choose, for example, their pastors and mentors. No one quarrels with the idea that you can't be expected to publicly denounce your blood relatives.

But Wright is not a relative of Obama's at all. Yet Obama cravenly compared Wright's racist invective to his actual grandmother, who "once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe."

Rev. Wright accuses white people of inventing AIDS to kill black men, but Obama's grandmother -- who raised him, cooked his food, tucked him in at night, and paid for his clothes and books and private school -- has expressed the same feelings about passing black men on the street that Jesse Jackson has."

The Hard Truth is there are bad people in every race, and those people (Like Obama) have created racism through their own foolishness and as a result have caused irreparable harm to innocent people of every race.

A Universal Healthcare Compromise (and energy solution)

Both Democrats have came up with Socialistic "Universal healthcare" plans, But I have one that will fix both the Health Crises and The Energy Crises.
It is very simple. The Health Crises stems largely from obesity, The Energy Crises of course comes from dependence on foreign oil.
The Solution... Replace all gasoline cars with diesel and build liposuction clinics around the country, Require mandatory liposuction of all individuals with high bodyfat and use the extracted fat for Biodiesel fuel.

Sadly the plan above is actually better than that of Obama's or Hillary's healthcare plans. The Plans were respectively 15 (Obama) and (Clinton) 16 pages long, but yet neither explained how they would pay for it, How can we afford another bloated government program when foreign governments (Mainly China) own $2.2 Trillion or 44% percent, of the national debt?

Also a striking similarity is the constant use of the word "Affordable", Everytime the government comes up with a new program, It costs much more than what a private sector organization could create. It endangers our National Security and our National Sovereignty. How can China or any other country respect us when they own 44% of our government?

They also harp the "47 Million uninsured, 9 Million of them children" slogan like it's going out of style, I am 17 and don't have health insurance, So I guess I fit in both brackets.

Both plans also call for expansion of the S-CHIP program and Medicare-Aid, If their plans cover all Americans, than why do they need 3 more programs to cover all Americans?
The Worst thing about S-Chip though was the way they would pay for it...
A Tax on private health insurance!!!

What is wrong with these people? Are they fundamentally incapable of reasoning?

Supreme Court Rules: Americans have a right to own guns.

A key justice, Anthony Kennedy, Who is a regular tie-breaker, Stated early in the hearing that the 2nd Amendment “a general right to bear arms.”

Chief Justice Robert's, Also seems prepared to vote on the Gun Owners side, He stated “What is reasonable about a ban on possession” of handguns?

Justice Samuel Alito, cited another provision requiring rifles or shotguns be kept unloaded and dissembled or bound by a trigger lock, and said it did not seem as if they could be used as such for the self-defense of one’s home.

It Seems that this landmark case could severely set back the Anti-Gunners nefarious disarmament plans, But rest assured, the snakes and their stooges will not give up.
But neither will we.

Are NY Democrats any different than rabbits?

Freshly sworn in New York Governor, David Paterson, Has admitted to having an extra-marital affair for several years, His wife has also admitted to sleeping around.
What has the world came to? Next thing you know a President will be having affairs in the White House, Oh Wait, Thats what happened
the last time a Democrat was in the White House.

If Paterson (Who is a Clinton Superdelegate) resigns, Republican Senate President, Joseph Bruno, Will become Governor and Hillary will lose ANOTHER superdelegate.

Its reallyyyyy fun, watching the Democratic party collapse on itself and all, But its actually very sad, Nobody remembers the Whigs that well.

Marshall, Reagan Incarnate

I had a conversation on a Va Virtucon thread with NotNotJayHughes, It was so profound I decided to share it with you.

"No, I’m NOT arguing Allen’s Conservatism, Allen was a Cookie-Cutter Conservative though, And Marshall has respect from non Traditional-Conservative Organizations like League of Conservation Voters and The Sierra Club who have wholeheartedly endorsed him.

2005: He finishes 9 Pts ahead of Kilgore in PWC and Four Pts ahead in Loudoun, All while barely lifting a finger to campaign.

2007: Also, Hardly Campaigns. Wins 58-41. Gilmore endorsers, Fitzsimmonds loses 46-53, Lingamfelter wins 50.1 to 49.6

This is clearly a man who knows the New NOVA Political dynamic.
He is also not so extreme as to repel or scare Minority Voters like Allen did, likely acting on his SD Campaign Manager’s advice.
Marshall can win because he is a different brand of statesman, I’m sorry if you don’t like that He’s a “team player” but thats what the electorate wants, Virginia is no longer a ” Vote by Party State”. Virginians actually make up their minds now, based on the actual candidate.
All it takes to win, is to get this message out, Bob Marshall doesn’t play on the Republican or Democratic team, He plays on OUR team.
Marshall is cut from the very same cloth as Reagan, A Democrat turned Republican. Someone to appeal to both party’s without compromising on our Sacred Values, Someone who can effect, Not just change, But Positive Change

They say a Reagan only comes around every hundred years, Thats not true, We are only wise enough to nominate a Reagan every hundred years.

If you want to turn around the unresponsive politics exhibited in DC by both party’s, If you want Positive Change, If you want Genuine Conservatism, If you want the Pride of saying “Thats my Senator” , Than you must become a delegate to the state convention.

It is time for Change, Our Nations Hope lies in the hands of the House and Senate, And there is no one I would Trust more to guard that, than the Delegate from Prince William: Robert Marshall."

I will now bask in the eloquence of my previous statement.

Thanks Mr. Speaker, No, I Barely notice the knife in my back

(Bob FitzSimmonds sent this email out)

"The budget negotiations ended yesterday and Virginia’s families lost on every count. The budget was stripped of language that would have stopped state funding of:

1. Planned Parenthood

2. Abortions

3. Human embryonic stem cell research

You may remember that the funding for abstinence programs was stripped earlier in the session when Senator Colgan walked on his promise to support this small put important funding.

Now it is time to call or email Colgan again and express your disappointment. But don’t stop there. Your representative in the House needs to hear from you as well. It was not just Colgan who let us down, but the House budget conferees gave away all of this as well. They need to be reminded that we are counting on them to fight for the family."

The Embryonic Stem Cell research thing was just a waste of Taxpayer Money, Embryonic Stem Cells are the least practical and reliable way to research cures.

I Sent an email to the Governors Office today, Informing him that as long as my tax dollars would fund murder, I Will not be paying them. I Encourage you to do the same, and withhold all taxes until our demands are met. That is how our forefathers did it then , and thats how we should do it now.

Well at least its not prostitution...

“I’m not going to discuss what I played with this morning.”

– Rep. James Moran, D-Va., after being asked on Thursday by Northern Virginia Technology Council Chairman John C. Lee if he played with his “Xbox before coming in this morning.” The two were at an NVTC meeting to hear Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates.

Wilder “If you think 1968 was bad, you watch: In 2008, it will be worse.”

Doug Wilder, seemed to predict the future last month with his statement "If you think 1968 was bad, you watch: In 2008, it will be worse.”
My prediction is that if the Democratic nomination goes to convention, The Democrats final nominee will have 60%-80% party support with the remainder going to Sen. McCain.
With the GOP Voting 85%-95% either FOR McCain or AGAINST th Democratic Nominee, McCain will also pick up Indies, Hispanics, and African Americans in the Case of Hillary and Moderates, Hispanics, and Asians in the case of Obama.
I Expect Obama's support among African-Americans to be 90-10, Which is average in a Presidential Race (I Have no idea why)

In almost any case, With the Democratic "Dream Ticket" Out of the picture, John McCain will be our next President.
The RNC has already outraised the DNC 2-1.
The Democrats however have a shot at redemption, Throw Obama-Hillary out the window and nominate Fmr. GA Governor. Zell Miller. I Guarantee it would be a landslide victory for him, Bringing in at least Two-Thirds of the Republican vote, for the Dem Nominee.

BUT, The DNC is to stupid to do such, and so say hello to Republicans controlling the entire Federal Government.

Obamas "Spiritual Mentor"

Is this really who you want our Presidents Pastor to be?

Obama Earmarks Scandal

Barack Obama recently released a list of $740 million in earmark requests he made in the past three years, and it includes $1 million for the hospital where his wife Michelle is a vice president.

The request for $1 million for the University of Chicago Medical Center was to help pay for construction of a new pavilion.
Nevertheless the request was voted down by the Senate in 2006.

BUT, Obama did manage to secure an earmark for $1.3 million for a high-explosive technology program for the Army’s Bradley Fighting Vehicle. The program was overseen by General Dynamics, and one of Obama’s top supporters, James Crown — a member of Obama’s national finance committee who serves on the board of General Dynamics.

Obama also secured for Mr Crown a $750,000 earmark for renovation of a space center named for Crown’s grandfather, Henry Crown, at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.

Michelle Obama is on leave from her job while her husband campaigns for president, but after Barack was elected to congress, she received a big raise.

USA Today reports that officials at the University of Chicago Hospitals told the Chicago Tribune that Michelle is "worth her weight in gold."

"She's terrific," added Michael Riordan, who was president of the hospital in March 2005, when Michelle Obama was promoted to vice president for external affairs and had her annual salary increased from $121,910 to $316,962.

My big question is... If Barack Obama is so opposed to earmarks like he claims, Why did he request $740 Million worth of them?

Is Gilmore serious?

From his Website

"Pro-Life activists endorse Jim Gilmore

Hearing Jim Gilmore speak this past Saturday (word of advice never speak after a former governor with Jim Gilmore's skills...it's like following Elvis) he spoke of his pro-life stance. Below is a letter from prolife activists regarding Jim Gilmore for Senate"

WOW

Gilmore is Elvis now Huh?

Plus his latest press release "I Want Bob Marshall to Apologize Because He Hurt My Feelings"

"It's a shame that Del. Marshall's rhetoric is becoming so overheated. He needs to remember that the goal of Virginia's nominee is to defeat liberal Mark Warner in November," Ummmmmm NO! The Goal of the Nominee is to obtain a position where he can: represent and protect the people, Fulfill his official duties and Uphold the Constitution.

"These Republican leaders know Governor Gilmore is the only active statewide Republican leader who has carried the state twice and carried Northern Virginia twice and they also know he pushed through successful legislation that created a 24-hour waiting period for women seeking an abortion,"

Actually Yes, Gilmore won statewide office twice (in the 90s), But didn't George Allen also win statewide office twice? How did that turn out?

And PUSHING THROUGH Pro-life legislation? That honor belongs to state legislators like Del. Marshall. Gilmore merely signed these laws into effect.

Gilmore also stated in the Gop Presidential Debates last fall that was Pro-Choice up to so many weeks, I can't remember the specifics, I Think thats cause enough to doubt the sincerity and passion of Jim Gilmore's Pro-Life credentials

Marshall was right, This is a death wish for the party's hopes of ever conquering the Governors Mansion

Colgan Reneging?

Bob Fitzsimmonds sent this email out today

"Working with the Republican caucus, Senator Ken Cuccinelli was able to get the Senate to vote to ban Planned Parenthood funding from the state budget. While this is fairly normal language for the House version of the budget, the Senate conferees have always stripped it out of the final state budget. This is the first time the Senate has ever voted this way, so we have a historic opportunity to stop funding this organization at state expense.

I was privileged to work with Ken as his Legislative Director during session and it was an amazing experience to see the Democrats come undone over this amendment. Nearly a whole day was devoted to Democrat attempts to side step Ken’s amendment. Ultimately they failed and the proposal passed with the support of one Democrat, Chuck Colgan. Amazingly, the biggest impediment to final passage of this language is now this same Democrat, Chuck Colgan. While Senator Colgan is pro-life this stipulation has never seemed to be a priority for him and in spite of his presence on the budget conference committees, this language has been stripped out year after year.

Immediately after voting for the ban, Senator Colgan appointed another pro-choice legislator to the conference committee. The only explanation for this is to bolster liberals on the conference committee. The outcome will almost certainly be that this restriction will die, while Senator Colgan can continue to claim that he voted right. Senator Colgan, as the chairman of the powerful Senate Finance committee, has tremendous influence in this process and can insist that this language stay in the budget.

It is really important Senator Colgan hear from folks about this. The vote on the budget may take place as early as Thursday. So please call Senator Colgan’s office at 703-368-0300 or email his office at district29@sov.state.va.us and ask him to vote against funding Planned Parenthood.

Ford ceases support of Homosexuality

An email sent to me from the AFA

"I have some good news for you! AFA is suspending its two year boycott of Ford Motor Company. The conditions of the original agreement presented in fall 2005 have been met. We reached the conclusion that Ford had met the conditions of the agreement based on monitoring for several months. Individuals are free to purchase Ford vehicles again.

Your support of the boycott played a key role in convincing Ford to cease its significant support of the homosexual agenda. During the 24 months the boycott was in effect, Ford sales dropped an average of 8% per month. The boycott was not entirely responsible for the drop in sales, but it played a very significant role.

A total of 780,365 individuals signed AFA's Boycott Ford petition.

The original agreement contained four items:

  1. Ford would not renew current promotions or create future incentives that give cash donations to homosexual organizations based on the purchase of a vehicle.
  2. Ford would not make corporate donations to homosexual organizations that, as part of their activities, engage in political or social campaigns to promote civil unions or same-sex marriage.
  3. Ford would stop giving cash and vehicle donations or endorsements to homosexual social activities such as Gay Pride parades.
  4. Ford would cease all advertising on homosexual Web sites and through homosexual media outlets (magazines, television, radio) in the U.S. with the exception of $100,000 to be used by Volvo. The Volvo ads would be the same ads used in the general media and not aimed at the homosexual community specifically.

A few minor issues remain, and we will continue to bring these to the attention of Ford. But basically Ford has met the terms of the agreement. We are therefore suspending the boycott."

Rebuttal

Video from 7-West

http://www.7-west.org/2008/02/27/a-bad-hit-for-school-districts/

I've been hearing the lefty's complaining of late, about the reduction of per pupil spending.

According to USA Today, The Commonwealth spends an average of $6,839 per student, On top of
$10,496 in PWC,
$12,917 in Fairfax, and
$17,968 in Alexandria.

Totals out to
$17,335 in PW
$19,756 in Fairfax Co
$24,807 in Alexandria
And this doesn't even factor in the rest of the school budget.
YOU CAN GO TO UVA,MASON,TECH, or JMU FOR LESS THAN THAT!
I Understand that Public College's in VA are subsidized, But the Christian School I went to (8 years ago) had no financial assistance from the church, and it only cost $1200 a year.

Why is it that you can go to a Private School for under $4,000 and most Christian Schools for under $2500, and get a quality education, While public school students lag much farther behind?

The Public School system is broken,

The VA Legislators need to learn that to fix the system, you must completely overhaul it. But until they realize it, I fear they will just keep throwing money at it, at the expense of Transportation and Infrastructure

For the Obama Supporters

It is natural for man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men. engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.

Ann Coulter follows through on her promise to help Hillary

Some Wisdom from Ann's Column

"If Hillary is serious about becoming president, she's got to make some changes. I say this as a Hillary supporter and strong opponent of divorce. Hillary: You've got to divorce Bill. You've already fired one campaign manager. Now it's time to get rid of your No. 1 buzz-killer. "

"Liberals believe, often accurately, that if they say the same thing over and over again 1 billion times, people will believe it: "Bush lied, kids died," "We've lost in Iraq," "Reagan is stupid," "Bush is stupid," "Republicans are stupid," "Global warming is destroying the planet," "Gloria Steinem is good-looking" and -- their most provably false assertion -- "Bill Clinton is the most talented politician of his generation."

In a period of just a few short months last year, "news" articles in The New York Times cooed -- I mean "said" -- the following about Bill Clinton:

-- "Elvis is here, Clinton version. Having Bill Clinton campaign for you, as Mr. Ford learns, is a mixed blessing. You are bolstered standing next to this outsized Democrat, but still seem puny by comparison."

-- "Mr. Clinton is one Oscar-worthy supporting actor who can sometimes upstage his leading lady simply by breathing."

-- "Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has been trying to capture Bill Clinton's old political magic and lay claim to his legacy and popularity."

-- Tony Blair's charisma "ranks second only to Bill Clinton's."

Not to be a stickler, but Bill Clinton is the guy who could never get as much as 50 percent of the country to vote for him. And that was in two presidential elections that the Republicans basically sat out (as they are doing this year).

It was also in elections held before the country realized "Elvis" Clinton was molesting the help. If Bill Clinton is the Democrats' idea of Elvis, somebody should tell them he's playing to half-empty houses."

Great Advice for Hillary

Senate Dems seek to give back the Majority

From familyfoundationblog.com

"On a daily basis conservatives are accused of being against children . . . mostly because they don’t spend enough money on anything, at least according to liberals.

Well, the shoe is apparently on the other foot for Senate Majority Leader Dick Saslaw (D-35, Springfield).

The General Assembly is looking at appropriating just over $1 million for “Alicia’s Law,” (sponored by Delegate Brian Moran, D-46, Alexandria, a Democrat candidate for governor). ”Alicia’s Law” would expand the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to help protect children from Interent predators. In a time where nearly every day we see another young, innocent victim of Internet predators, this program has done extraordinary work. Expanding it to more communities in Virginia would help protect more children from this horrific crime.

Shockingly, Senator Saslaw is fighting the budget amendment! While everyone is well aware that money is tight in Richmond and legislators are finding creating a new budget very difficult, public safety is a core responsibility of government! This is where they should actually be spending our money. Why in the world would Sen. Salslaw be against children like this?

Senator Saslaw is getting hammered by people from all over the nation, and word has it that Bill O’Reilly has targeted him for his show sometime this week.

We’re just wondering when the liberal, pro-children groups are going to start calling out Senator Saslaw for his hostility toward children?"

Vogel's Gun Legislation Vetoed by the Governor Today

Governor Tim Kaine today vetoed SB 436, a bill introduced by State Senator Jill H. Vogel (R-Upperville) that would make it safer and simpler for law abiding citizens to transport weapons in their vehicle.

The bill which passed the House and Senate with overwhelming support creates a new exception to the general prohibition against carrying concealed weapons by allowing a person who lawfully possesses a firearm to carry it in their vehicle if it is in a locked container or compartment.

The bill passed the House by a vote of 69 to 29 and passed the Senate by a vote of 41 to 9. The bill also had the unanimous support of gun owners and 2nd Amendment advocates who were outspoken proponents of the bill before the House and Senate committees.

Under current law, an individual who does not possess a concealed carry permit, but who wishes to transport a gun, must leave the gun in the open in their car in an exposed area such as the seat or dash board. In testimony before the House and Senate committees, Vogel noted that the current law is simply impractical. It prevents law abiding citizens from using the safety precaution of securing their weapons out of sight of young passengers or others who may be passers-by. She also noted that members of law enforcement in committee spoke to the benefit of having a weapon out of arm's reach during a highway stop.

Vogel said she was pleased with the bi-partisan support for the bill and disappointed in the Governor's action. Vogel criticized the Governor's veto saying "the Governor's heavy handed approach to kill legislation supported by the overwhelming majority of legislators in his own party, demonstrates the power of the anti-2nd Amendment lobby over this Governor. I consider it a sad day for the citizens of Virginia when the Governor will side with a small but powerful lobby over the objection of gun owners in Virginia as well as a stunning majority of members of the House and Senate."

Vogel said this bill was one of her most successful bills in a package of legislation that she carried this session to keep the promises she made this fall, including legislation to protect the 2nd Amendment, repeal abuser fees, tackle energy conservation and the power lines, and address the overwhelming burdens of illegal immigration.

Can't wait till McDonnell is Governor
