VA Gop Chairmans Race

After much soul searching and research I've come to a decision, I need to be party chair, I'm the only one I agree with 100%, I Never walked out of a transportation vote or said anything nice about Mark Warner.
Unfortunately I don't think the delegates would be wild about a 17 year old taking control of the RPV, So I've decided (barely) to vote for Jeff Fredericks for RPV Chairman,

I Think that Jeff's 100 Day Plan for the Party (although not perfect) is a step in the right direction,
John Hager did not issue any similar directive.
The party leadership has not made full use of the incredible talent and wisdom of the grassroots and My decision on whom to support rested mostly on how accessible I perceive the candidates to be, and I felt that Frederick more fully fulfilled my criteria.

John Hager is a great man of honor and I am honored to have him as my party chairman, If he wins this election I hope it would give a wake-up call to the leadership and fuse their commitment to this great party.

Huckabee edges closer to the VP nod.

Everyone is reporting that McCain is hosting a memorial day bash with possible VP Candidates

• Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman
• South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham

Everyone also seems to think that these are the final contenders for the VP Slot.

My question is, Why would he choose a party as a venue to pick his running mate?
He would certainly want to speak to a person longer and more privately than this event would offer.

I think that the choice has been made, and he will announce that choice at the Memorial Day event, That choice will most likely be Gov. Mike Huckabee. My argument is supported by the facts, Huckabee will be essential to GOP House and Senate prospects, He brings Social Conservatives that are disenchanted with McCain into the fold.

Test polling has been done and a McCain-Huckabee ticket is more viable in the swing states than a ticket with say... Mitt Romney or Charlie Crist.
McCain-Huckabee is the only ticket that polling shows will defeat a Obama-Edwards ticket (incidentally obama's best combo)

The REAL problem with illegal immigration

BVBL is reporting that there have been American Flag burnings in manassas park.

The likilyhood is that it was Illegal Immigrants, And even if it wasn't their are loads of documented cases elsewhere.

While my illegal immigration position has been more measured than that of other's in my party, I am very concerned with these events, I Never jumped on the HSM bandwagon, I didn't take the rhetoric seriously as I believe the exaggeration level was off the charts.
BUT...

I am extremely concerned as to the communist-socialist tendencies of these illegal aliens, I understand that it is common in their home countries and makes them easy prey for brainwashing by members of the Peoples Republic of Arlington, The economic effects of illegal immigration are trivial compared to the political repercussions we will experience if we don't act immediately,
The only solution I see is either deportation or Mandatory Military Service required as a condition for amnesty, I Believe a term in the Military would instill the necessary values to become a patriotic American.

Del. Bob Marshall (R., Manassas) today scored the federal Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals for its decision overturning Virginia’s partial-birth abortion law, charging that the ruling “is a corruption of law, and the procedure is the destruction of medicine.”

“I strongly urge the Attorney General McDonnell to appeal this grotesque decision, and I hope that the members of the U.S. Supreme Court will first of all read my statute,” Marshall, who authored the law passed by the Virginia General Assembly to prevent the killing of human children in the process of birth, said.

“I fully hope that infanticide will not become the law of the land by judicial decree.”

Marshall, a candidate for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate, said, “The bottom line is that Congress has complete authority over 14th Amendment definitions of persons and citizens. Thomas Jefferson wrote, ‘All men are created equal,’ and the first right in our Declaration of Independence is the right of life.

“We can no longer accept soothing words from politicians who say they will appoint pro-life judges when they clearly have not done so since 1973. Abortion up to birth is currently justified by judges ratified by the United States Senate.

“Members of Congress have to take responsibility. Any politicians who says he will appoint pro-life judges is simply telling us that he does not want to deal with the question of the definition of life. Congress can define all the terms of the 14th Amendment, including ‘persons’ and ‘citizens’ to include unborn children.”

The Associated Press reported that the federal appeals court, by a 2-1 decision, found that Virginia’s ban on late-term abortion is unconstitutional even though it is similar to a federal law approved by the U.S. Supreme Court. The federal law protects doctors who set out to perform a legal abortion that by accident becomes the banned procedure, AP reported. The Virginia law, the court said, contains no such protection

Marshall, however, noted that the Virginia statute he wrote contains this language: “Any person who knowingly performs partial birth infanticide and thereby kills a human infant is guilty of a Class 4 felony…. For the purposes of this section, ‘partial birth infanticide’ means any deliberate act that is intended to kill a human infant who has been born alive, but who has not been complete extracted or expelled from its mother, and that does kill such infant, regardless of whether death occurs before or after extraction or expulsion from its mother has been completed.”

Huckabee's statement on last nights Special Election in Miss.

Last night was a reminder of what a tough year this will be for Republicans. The loss of the Congressional seat in Mississippi was tough. We had a great candidate, but the Democrat very effectively ran as a pro life, pro 2nd amendment conservative. I'm convinced that for the GOP to have wins this year we have to focus on specific issues and not party building (for us) or party bashing (against them).

Huckabee tops McCains VP List.

Newsmax is reporting that Mike Huckabee is the top contender for the VP Slot, If the source is correct than we are in for a great election.

Lately Dems have been making inroads in the deep south, If Huckabee is on the ticket he will greatly benefit these congressional races and pull in a strong vote in his home state of Arkansas where the US Senate race is crucial to the GOP regaining control of the Senate.
Huckabee has broad appeal among the working class voters and will keep Ohio and Florida in the GOP Column and may lead to a pick-up in Michigan.

Family Research Council endorses Marshall for Senate

Apparently Gov. Gilmore's "Abortion is okay in the first 2 months" position has eroded support from the Evangelical wing of the GOP.

FRC Action, the legislative advocacy arm of the Family Research Council founded by Dr. James Dobson in 1983 to promote marriage and family and the sanctity of human life in national policy, on Tuesday endorsed Del. Bob Marshall for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate.

“Delegate Marshall is the conservative candidate in this race,” Connie Mackey, FRC Action’s senior vice president said in a statement released from its headquarters in Washington, D.C. “There is a clear and significant difference between Bob Marshall’s claim to the pro-life mantle and Jim Gilmore’s.

“During his more than 17 years in the Virginia House of Delegates, Bob Marshall has exemplified what it is to be a statesman. It is a great honor for FRC Action to endorse Bob Marshall for the U.S. Senate.”

Marshall (R., Manassas) and ex-Gov. Gilmore are vying for the GOP nomination at the Republican State Convention on May 30-31 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. They seek the seat held by retiring Sen. John W. Warner (R.). Former Gov. Mark Warner, no relation to the current senator, is the presumptive Democrat nominee for the office.

“ drafted and led the way for Virginia’s partial-birth abortion ban bill,” Mackey said in her statement. “He sponsored the successful ballot initiative preserving marriage. He protected the rights of Old Dominion taxpayers by dismantling the unelected tax authority in Virginia by winning a unanimous decision from the Virginia Supreme Court. He has proclaimed that he is a conservative, he has acted like a conservative, and he has won many battles as a conservative.”

Gilmore, on the other hand, “has insisted that abortion remain legal for up to the first eight weeks of pregnancy,” Mackey said. “Under Gilmore’s policy, it would be legal for approximately 700,000 unborn children to be killed each year.”

With Dobson’s leadership since it inception, the council, a 501(c)(3) organization, has exerted a strong national presence in promoting the traditional family unit and furthering the Judeo-Christian value system upon which it is built.

I emailed an acquaintance who works with Conservation International (A carbon offset organization) with the flight distance's for Mark Warners private plane he used for his announcement tour, She emailed me back with the CO2 emissions that were calculated for his flights, His emissions were 8.5 TONS of Carbon and about 420 Gallons of fuel.
Mark Warner uses more fuel in 2 days than I use in 10 Months.

Warners Energy Position:

But I Don't see Marshall and Gilmore jetting all over creation, If the GOP is out of touch with the environment than how come we practice what they preach,

Bob Marshall, who shows the left is completely out of touch with reality, They live in the urban jungle and have no idea whats going on in Real Virginia, They can't understand that it's the Hunters that are protecting VA Wildlife and it's the incompetency of the Warner and Kaine appointed DGIF Bureaucracy that keep the Majestic Elk from once again roaming the Mountains of Virginia.
They don't understand that we need Nuclear and Clean Coal Power instead of White Elephants.
The Mark Warner's and Tim Kaine's of this world have no idea what needs to be done in the way of energy policy, If our gas prices are to come down then lets make electricity cheap (Thru Nuclear Power) and bring on the Plug-in Hybrids, The HAFC's, The Chevy Volt and the Hydrogen Cars.

Huckabee beats Paul

Although Gov. Mike Huckabee dropped out of the Presidential Race, He finished a strong second (for a guy who's not running) in Tonight's Indiana and North Carolina GOP Primary's, Although Ron Paul is still running (With 4 Million in cash) he couldn't pull off a victory. The Results...

The interesting thing in Indiana is that Mitt Romney finished with 1/2 of the votes Huckabee got, despite dropping out within weeks of Huckabee.

These results should show Sen. McCain that anyone who can still garner this much support is the obvious choice for the VP Slot.

Leslie Byrne's campaign briefly joined Keith Fimian's Meetup, In hope's of guaging campaign activities. While this type of research occurs, It normally comes from campaigns that are either desperate, or have no confidence in their campaign organization.
Sources close to the Fimian Campaign state that they are not concerned with the opposition, All energy is focused on the Campaign and they are expecting to pull off a great win.
